Debbie Lahue, M.A. Ed./Admin and Curriculum Development, has served as an educator since 1987. The arts have been instrumental in her career as a lifelong learner, teacher, presenter, instructional coach, school district administrator, literacy facilitator and regional humanities director. She’s directed annual high school art shows, helped districts align instruction to arts standards, developed professional learning communities to support standards based teaching and managed an Arts Impact Dissemination and Expansion Grant for the U.S. Department of Education. She’s been the recipient of awards in education including the 2012 Washington ART Education Association (WAEA) Annual Achievement Award. She currently uses the arts to increase achievement, engagement and overall success for learners each day.
I’m passionate about increasing access to the arts, and I want to continue to advocate for the presence of more art in academic curriculum. I firmly believe the arts can make a major impact in education and beyond, and that’s why I’m with Partners Through Art. -Debbie
